A couple of months ago, I visited Castle Combe in England, and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Castle Combe is absolutely beautiful, it has even been named the prettiest village in England:) The films War Horse, doctor doolittle, and the wolf man were filmed there. The houses are small and cottage- like, the cotswolds kinda type. Special rules have been set to preserve the natural beauty of the houses and scenery so that future generations can keep viewing them. The 14th century market cross is situated where the three principal streets converge, some small steps were even added to the cross so that horse riders could mount and dismount. I would definitely recommend giving Castle Combe a visit, it's definitely worthwhile! Hopefully I'll get the chance to go back soon.
